304 Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve Z45W
A non-rising stem gate valve is also known as a rotating stem gate valve or concealed stem wedge gate valve. The stem nut is installed on the gate disc. When the handwheel rotates, it drives the stem to turn and lift the gate disc. There are trapezoidal threads at the lower end of the stem. Through the matching threads at the bottom of the valve stem and the guide groove on the valve body, rotational motion is converted into linear motion, turning rotational torque into operational thrust.
When opening the valve, the lifting height of the gate disc reaches 1 times of the valve diameter, and the medium channel is fully unobstructed. However, this position cannot be observed during actual operation. In practical use, the top end of the valve stem is taken as the full-open reference point.
To compensate for the dead lock caused by temperature changes, after opening to the extreme top position, the valve is rotated back 1/2~1 turn as the final fully open position. Therefore, the full opening position of the valve is determined by the travel position of the gate disc.
